Abstract A novel Left-Handed Transmission Lines (LHTLs) based on coaxial waveguide is presented, compared with the LHTLs based on microstrip, the new structure has higher operating frequency, lower loss and higher power capability; compared with the LHTLs based on coaxial waveguide and rectangular waveguide presented recently, it has a simpler structure and is more easily to realize; The results of equivalent circuit method and finite element simulation show that the structure exhibits obvious left-handed behavior in a specific frequency range.
