Abstract The methods of similarity measure between vague values (sets) in existence, some errors and limitations in some former result are analyzed. A new definition of similarity measure between values (sets) is presented, and two ameliorative similarity measures between values (sets) are presented. Finally，the ameliorative similarity measures between values (sets) are validated with experimental data.
