Abstract This paper investigates the impact of feedback period and delay on the performance of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems with adaptive modulation, and analyzes the characteristics of the equivalent parallel fading subchannels obtained by Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). Its receiver detection method and a simplified detection order are given as well. The results show that the correlation of the subchannels’ fading remains large within a certain period of time. System's performance can be improved significantly when the Zero Forcing (ZF) and Interference Cancellation (IC) techniques are adopted at the receiver.
