Abstract A number of publications address the issue of the m-parameter estimation in Nakagami-m fading. The purpose of this contribution is to tackle approximate close form expression for a class of generalized moment-based estimator since it is always a transcendental equation. The details of derivation process are given. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate that the approximate estimator is not only computationally efficient but also accurate enough when compared with other estimators.
