Abstract The topic of scattering matrix measurement of moving targets is very important in such fields as polarimetric radar and target recognition. In this paper, the problem of time division scattering matrix measurement of the reciprocal targets is discussed. A method of measuring and calibration based on aligning the phase of the cross-polarization of the scattering matrix is proposed. It is shown that the proposed measuring and calibration method can effectively eliminate the scattering matrix decorrelation caused by the target movement.
