Abstract The Parametric Adaptive Matched Filter (PAMF) is a good method for the Ground Moving Target Indication (GMTI) of bistatic airborne radars. In this paper the reason for the good GMTI qualities of PAMF is worked out with the theory of matrix perturbations, and the rules of how to determinate the PAMF’s order is proposed. So, the context of this paper is a potent supplement for PAMF in bistatic airborne radars.
