Performance Analysis of a New Complex Cavity for Gyrotron |

Abstract A new complex open-cavity structure is used for improving the mode selectivity of gyrotron resonator by means of setting a right rational position of the common wall and the shape of coupling slots between the inter- and outer- cavities. The characteristics of the resonant modes in the cavity are simulated and analyzed with Ansoft HFSS code. It is shown that mode competition can be effectively suppressed with the new cavity structure.
