Abstract The pilot-assisted channel estimation method is studied in time-division multiplexing Rayleigh fading channel. A channel tracking method is proposed by using the Chebyshev interpolation polynomials after the channel coefficients of pilot symbols in a time-slot being estimated employing ML estimation. It is compared with the segment linear interpolation method with regression. The simulation results show that the method can track the fading channel accurately. By using the proposed estimation method, the system’s BER performance can be improved distinctly.
