Abstract In view of the weakness of millimeter wave radiation signals’ energy, a calibration method for linear array with the presence of sensor gain, phase and position errors is presented. Based on the array distortion model at low Signal-to Noise Ratio (SNR), and through using a single signal source without knowing exact orientation, the calibration data in multiple angles is obtained by rotating the array antenna, and sensor gain, phase and position error parameters are estimated, thus accomplishing the joint calibration of gain, phase and position errors. The proposed method offers a less complex computation process with higher precision of estimation and good calibration performance. The theoretical analysis and computer simulation results show the effectiveness of the method.
