Abstract In order to jointly use the MIMO-ISAR space-time sampling signals for imaging, a novel method based on 2D frequency estimation is proposed for the rearrangement of MIMO-ISAR space-time echo. Firstly, the ratio of the frequencies of space and time sampling signals is estimated, and then the space-time sampling signals are rearranged according to the ratio. After uniform interpolating, the azimuth image is retrieved by FFT processing. Compared with the existing approach, the precision of parameter estimation is efficiently improved by utilizing the super-resolution performance of the modern spectral estimation algorithm. Meanwhile, the ratio of the two frequencies is estimated via Randomized Hough Transform (RHT), and the proposed method is still applicable when the frequency of the space sampling signal is ambiguity. The simulation results confirm the validity of the proposed method.
