Abstract The one-Step Generalized Likelihood Ratio Test (1S-GLRT) and two-Step GLRT (2S-GLRT) are proposed for the problem of adaptive detection for airborne radar with jamming in partially homogeneous environments. Basing on these detectors, the Reduced-Rank GLRT (RR-GLRT) and Diagonally Loaded (DL-GLRT) are introduced in the situation of low sample support. All the novel detectors can effectively suppress the jamming and detect the targets. Moreover, if the number of the training data is low, the RR-GLRT and DL-GLRT can achieve higher Probabilities of Detection (PD’s) than those of the 1S-GLRT and 2S-GLRT. Both the 1S-GLRT and 2S-GLRT possess the Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) property, while the RR-GLRT and DL-GLRT are asymptotically CFAR. The effectivity of the novel multichannel space-time adaptive detectors is verified with computer simulation.
