Abstract Considering the issue of In-phase and Quadrature-phase (IQ) imbalances in MIMO-OFDM systems with sparse multipath channels, a method jointing IQ imbalance with sparse channel estimation is proposed. The time-domain model for joint IQ imbalance and sparse channel estimation is derived and an estimation scheme based on l1−l2 norm optimization model and Parallel Coordinate Descent (PCD) algorithm is proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves obviously the system performance compared with the traditional frequency-domain Least Squares (LS) and Matching Pursuit (MP) algorithms.
