Abstract In this paper, multicarrier radar signal models of stationary and moving targets are analyzed. Based on the Doppler frequency difference of different subcarrier, a new method is proposed to estimate the velocity of the target with one and multiple scattering points using single echo. This method measures the velocity from the data produced by multiple auto correlation channels using nonlinear least squares criteria. The correspondence processing scheme is given and the complexity of this algorithm is analyzed. Simulation results show that this method is feasible and effective.
