Abstract Spectrum sensing is one of the key technologies for cognitive radio systems. After analyzing the correlation matrix of the received signals, the Difference between the Maximum eigenvalue and the Minimum eigenvalue (DMM) is employed as the test statistic to sense the available spectrum for the cognitive users. Both the simulation and the theoretical results show that the proposed method is robust to noise uncertainty, and greatly outperforms the classical energy detection method.
