Regular Directional Distortion Based Compressed Image Quality Assessment |

Abstract Image quality assessment is fundamental importance for image or video processing system. Following the knowledge of properties of human visual system and features of natural image, a novel full reference image quality assessment based on the regular directional distortion is proposed in this paper. The proposed method is low complexity and has clear physical structure. The experimental results upon image database show that the proposed method is in accordance with characteristic of human visual system and has a good consistency with the subjective assessment of human beings.
