Abstract To verify the high spectral efficiency of VWDK, the principle of the modulation is introduced in detail. The simulation results of VWDK modulation and demodulation confirm that “UNB” is not what is generally called. Moreover, through calculating the analytic formula of its power spectrum, and analyzing the distribution of its spectra power, the so called high spectral efficiency of VWDK is just an illusion.
