Abstract In this paper, a new type of microwave radiometer, real-time calibrated microwave radiometer was introduced. It has the following characteristics: (1) insensitive to system gain variations; (2)insensitive to receiver noise temperature variations; (3) the ability to provide realtime calibration; (4) wide measurement range. The prototype of real-time calibrated microwave radiometer at C -band was made in our laboratory. The integration time is 0.2s, the sensitivity is 0.2K,linearity of the receiver is 0.9990....
