Abstract The precise motion compensation is a crucial issue for high-resolution airborne SAR imaging, which is especially important for SAR imaging under airborne small platform or severe disturbance. In order to obtain high-quality SAR images, combining wavenumber domain algorithm and considering the two-dimensional spatial-variant properties of motion error, practical motion compensation algorithms are put forward in this paper. Simulation and SAR imaging results based on practical measuring data with these algorithms are given to prove the feasibility of this method.
