Abstract The scattering matrix, which describes the scattering property of practical scatters, is generally a function of time. So, the scattered electromagnetic wave is no longer a completely polarized wave, but a partially polarized wave, although the incident wave is completely polarized. This paper mainly focuses on the optimal reception of partially polarized electromagnetic wave, and derives the method for optimizing the intensity received by the antenna.
