Abstract On the base of a finite state sequential machine, the well known Cariolaro s algorithm is used, namely the transition probability matrix method, to analyze the power spectrum of 8B/10B line code used in gigabit ethernet, and to give the closed-form solution and the curve of the power spectrum density.
