| Performance Study on Multiplex System of Broad Band Real-Time VBR Service and Best Effort Service |

Abstract Based on the broad band multiplex system which provides real time VBR services with a complete sharing policy and best effort service, this paper focuses its attention on the average residual capacity, packet loss probability of real time services and average delay of best effort service. Through comprehensive analysis of the multi-service queuing, this paper educes computation formulas of the main performance indexes and arrives at a new conclusion that the packet loss probability is not a monotonic function of the call level load. Simulation results prove that the formulas are correct.
