Abstract An algorithm is presented for dynamic location in distributed mobile communication system. In the algorithm, Doppler frequency offsets of the MS are estimated by RAUs firstly, and the velocity in each direction from the MS to each RAU is derived. And then, the states equation and the observation equation are constituted, and an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) is employed to estimate the position of the MS, and the trajectory of the MS can be obtained through a step by step way. The algorithm can improve the location precision because of employing of Kalman filter, which reduces the error accumulation in the Doppler dynamic location algorithm, and this issue is verified by simulation as well.
