Abstract This paper presents a new method of designing an interleaver for turbo codes, which is termed as Golden-spread interleaver. This method fits for designing interleavers of arbitrary length. The principle and process are detailed with the analysis of an interleaver design for 16 states turbo codes. The simulation results are also presented.
