Abstract SIR-based preamble detection is investigated under multipath fading condition. Two-antenna receiver is designed for the random access channel and common packet channel in WCDMA uplink. The preamble detection performance is derived and closed-form expressions are given. Three utilization methods of antennas’ signals are compared by theoretical analysis and computer simulations.
