Abstract Due to the circuit topology of EPC used in spaceborne TWT amplifier, its harmonic has complex spectrum and great effect on reliability. In this paper, the modulation theory is applied to analyze the cause and calculate the spectrum of harmonic of EPC, also the experimental results are given. The conclusion of this paper will help both in suppressing the harmonic of EPC and improving the reliability of TWTA.
