Abstract In this paper, a new approach to two-dimensional phase unwrapping for in-
terferon ictric SAR, based on local iuiniiiiitin spanning tree is presented deriving liy branch
optimum model. This approach avoids separated interferograin into isolated regions resuh-
ing in incomplete unwrapped phase by traditional connecting residues methods. Guided by
quality snap, the connecting of residues is proposed exactly and optimized. The experiments
on real interferograni show the validity of this approach.
