Abstract This paper proposes a novel modulation mode named Pulse-cycle Skip Modu-lation(PSM) in switching converter and analyzes its principle and characteristics. The state equations, modulation factor, response speed and the efficiency of PSM are also described. Compared with (PWM) control mode, PSM is a better control method in switching con-verter.
