Abstract Based on the phase correlativity between pluses of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), a new observation method is presented. By the method the SAR’s location information can be obtained from the characteristics of the observed azimuth chirp signals of SAR. Compared with the normal TOA observation, the method that uses a phase measurement instead of time measurement, could avoid a severe demand of time measurement accuracy.
