Abstract:In a multiuser wireless system with multiple antennas, the independence of different users’ random fading characteristic can be exploited to obtain great gain of multiuser diversity by combining different techniques, such as random beamforming, spatial diversity, antenna selection. The performance of these different multiuser diversity schemes is not the same. This paper gives out the formula of the average throughput and analyzes the performance of some typical multiuser diversity schemes. This paper also compares the effect of number of users and antennas on throughput performance of different multiuser diversity schemes. It will present beneficial reference for the design of practical multiuser system with multiple antennas.
