Abstract：A novel retransmission approach based on Opportunistic Network Coding (ONC) is proposed to improve the transmission efficiency in wireless broadcast scenario. The ONC is applied to the retransmission of lost packets, and an efficient combination strategy is introduced to generate the retransmission packet. According to the packet loss information of terminals, a Hash table is built, on the basis of which the lost packets are selected in a certain way to generate the retransmission packet rapidly. So the proposed approach can improve the performance of retransmission and reduce the complexity effectively. The simulation results show that the proposed approach can reduce the number of retransmission, and improve the efficiency of packet retransmission and retrievement compared with existing approaches.
