Abstract:Two parameters are normally employed to evaluate recognition ability of the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) for the thin-layer: the least recognition thickness and the reflectance recognition precision. In this paper, the spectrum inversion method is used to improve the recognition ability of the GPR. The spectrum transmission function of the multilayer media is firstly deduced, and the forward model of the reflecting wave spectrum is obtained. Then the two parameters are inversed by using the damp least-squares algorithm. The experiment demonstrates that the method can identify the layer effectively with a thickness less then one-eighth wavelength.
