Designing Method of Orthogonal Pulse in Time Domain Based on Prolate Spheroidal Wave Functions for Nonsinusoidal Wave Communication

Abstract:For the issue of transmitting nonsinusoidal signal in radio frequency and improving the energy efficiency and bandwidth efficiency in nonsinusoidal communication systems, designing method of orthogonal pulse set in time domain based on Prolate Spheroidal Wave Functions (PSWF) is proposed. The pulse set is constructed by parameters setting, frequency dividing, equation solving and Schmidt orthogonalization. The frequency spectra shifting and characteristics of the pulses set are controlled by changing pulses parameters. The pulses set is bandlimited signal with controllable frequency spectra. Simulation results show that the pulses set is with good energy concentration which is important for improving the energy efficiency of nonsinusoidal communication system, and the bandwidth efficiency can be rapidly closed to the Nyquist rate.
