Abstract:This paper investigates the fast fading channel with the mobile speed over 150km/h, which is used in 3G wireless communication system. Because the varying speed of channel coefficients exceeds the convergence speed of tracking algorithm, the normal time-domain based method fail. However, when transformed to frequency domain, the varying speed of channel coefficients becomes slow. Based on this observation, a novel approach to channel estimation is proposed in frequency domain. Compared with other algorithms, this method shows a good performance both in computation and tracing speed.
